Extras: I liked the 24:31 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Ralph Long since it was dedicated to this production. There were interviews, clips of the cast at work, and was appreciated. The best extra for most people will be the 31:54 minute long bonus scene from Gritty, described below. There was also a photogallery, some trailers, spam, cumshot recap, and a “special offer” for those with a smart phone but that was all.

Audio/Video Quality: Dark & Dirty was presented in a 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment. The flick was shot in 1080i/60 high definition a few years ago, though presented in the SD format in a short vignette format. The lighting was well handled and as a showcase for brunettes, the technical elements were decidedly better than many previous company titles. Jack Freedom was the editor and Shylar Cobi joined Skow on working the cameras; a good move from what I’ve seen. There was a company watermark in the lower right hand corner for those that care. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 256 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. The aural qualities of the movie appeared to offer very limited separation and dynamic range, the vocals easily heard in most cases and mixed in with the ambient noises fairly well.

Skow and Vivid Entertainment are known throughout the porn world for all sorts of enjoyable flicks, Skow’s “Brand New Faces” line still as good as it gets when showcasing vanilla newcomers in first scenes. In short, Dark & Dirty had a lot of appeal in terms of the casting, the technical prowess used to capture them during tease and sex, and some serious replay value if you appreciate brunettes so give this title a look if it sounds good to you.
