Extras: There was a pop shot compilation from the scenes and trailers but the best extra by far was the 27:04 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. The BTS had more interactions with the others and James had a lot to say to and with her.

Audio/Video Quality: Stockholm Syndrome was presented in anamorphic widescreen as directed by James Deen for James Deen Productions. Johnathan Taylor Thomas was the director of photography, Sigurd Jarlson the first assistant camera operator, Danny Wylde and James acting as editors. The flesh tones were accurate in all but the last sex scene, the colors a bit saturated due to lower level lighting which caused a great deal of grain as well. There was no company watermark which should please many of you but the framing was often terrible, cutting off big portions of people’s heads or simply not capturing the footage all that well. In many cases, it looked like a rushed attempt to emulate a really low budget 1970’s exploitation flick but on a smaller budget with less time. The aural components by Brother Goat consisted of some modest attempts at music that I liked when they were used, easily heard but minimal vocals, and some ambient noises, a lot of polishing up needed to compete with the usual feature directors and established crews but clearly a stab at trying something very different from his peers overall.

Body of Review: James Deen is a director at James Deen Productions, the owner of the company branching out this year to expand his coverage of different genres. His latest title in for review is called Stockholm Syndrome, a feature shot on a modest budget where James and Remy LaCroix pay homage to a wide ranging number of Hollywood movies ranging from Bonnie and Clyde to Natural Born Killers as well as more recent copy cats. With Remy, Nina Elle, Kalina Ryu, Steven St. Croix, and David Lord playing major roles here, I was very interested in seeing what they came up with. The company described the movie like this: “Ian (James Deen) is a nomad making his way across the country via petty crimes. But misdemeanors quickly turn to felonies, when he kidnaps Juliette (Remy LaCroix), whose trophy wife status makes her Ians' perfect target. In a tangled web of chaos and crime, Juliette develops a case of Stockholm Syndrome and falls in love with her abductor. Juliette and her cohort then embark on a Bonnie and Clyde adventure to escape their miserable realities.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Kalina Ryu, an Asian hard body hotty, was up first in a contemporary home playing with Steven St. Croix, the gal portraying his new secretary in classic black lingerie. The couple kissed and caressed each other, erotically undressing as he savored her boobs and pawed her perky ass, their age disparity looking very pronounced as the hairy guy had her slob his knob actively, her ass shown with panties nestled deep up her crack as she easily throated him to the bone while he rubbed her pucker. His turgid pecker was catered to nicely and she slid into a 69 so he could gobble her gash and ass, the single camera shoot focusing on her blowing him over balanced footage of each enjoying the other. She then mounted his raging boner with her bald beaver to actively ride him vaginally, additional oral and penetrative positions not as active as the cowgirl related bouncing. She nuzzled his nuts and applied some hand to gland friction too, the flexible lass interrupted from draining his dragon by Remy who was upset that she caught her husband cheating on her.

Scene Two: Remy LaCroix, the sexy booty queen featured on the front cover, was then up in a black dress as Kalina Ryu watched Steve St. Croix berate her for interrupting the previous tryst. As a controlling abuser, Steven ordered Kalina to take her quickly put on clothes back off as Remy blew him, further having the sexy Asian masturbate and provide some visual stimulation from the nearby platform mattress as Remy blew and boned Steven in a long shot from across the room. It was a basic, no chemistry, oral and vaginal romp shot in minimalist fashion, used more to flesh out the characters than to elicit rounds of semen flying from the audience. That said, Remy’s delicious ass looked good with her pronounced tan line as she rode Steven in cowgirl variations, the pop shot alluded to but not shown.

Scene Three: Nina Elle, a curvy blond bombshell, was up next as a hooker hired by James Deen when she gave him a deal. They ended up on the bed all over each other, kissing and going at it with a degree of enthusiasm as he diddled her and bit her nipple, Nina going overboard expressing her levels of pleasure before getting completely naked while he devoured her shaven snatch. Like most of the sex scenes, the camera work was pretty bad and the lighting did not help a lot, James porking Nina in a variety of passive (for her) positions though she did squirt, her oral well done and a few moments of penetration showing her acting as though she enjoyed it, again no pop shot displayed though it was eluded to by James grunting.

Scene Four: Remy LaCroix, wearing a loose black shirt and tight blue jean pants, was next shown in a deserted desert area in broad daylight as she and James Deen jumped all over each other. They kissed and she dropped down to blow him, her hand assisted hummer pumping him for all he was worth as she brought him back to life while on her knees. He then gave her some head, her snatch sporting a light triangle of pubic hair as though it was freshly grown, some vaginal penetration against the white pick up truck eventually leading to her aggressively jerking him off all over her face.

Scene Five: Remy LaCroix, up last in bed covered in money, consummated her new partnership with James Deen, the pair kissing each other while playing with the money. He helped Remy ditch her pants and went down on her, Remy stroking his half erect pecker as he diddled her before she leaned over to blow him. The oral led to her actively riding him in various positions, a nearly static camera capturing the encounter with a couple of close up shots before he nutted all over her torso and crotch.

Summary: Stockholm Syndrome by director James Deen for James Deen Productions was a porno that stood as James’ best feature of the year, meriting a rating of Rent It for pushing his limits, gathering such a solid cast, and making it work a little better than his other attempts at features. Remy LaCroix was a sexual breath of fresh air but there wasn't a lot to appreciate other than the sexual trysts, the movie almost what bad cult classics tend to be made of even if the technical aspects were just as bad as ever. In short, Stockholm Syndrome was better than I thought it would be based on the minimal buzz, the director surprising me by coming out of left field though there was nothing “new” here and the sex was shot in such a way that it could be frustrating. In all though, there was a fair amount of raw energy to appreciate this time, the ultra low budget balanced out by the use of Remy LaCroix in her best feature role of the season so check it out as an homage to many late night features based on stockholm syndrome.
