Audio/Video Quality: The Temptation of Eve was presented in a crisp, anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Jacky St. James for New Sensations. Using the talents of director of photography Eddie Powell, editor Gabrielle Anex, and the usual crew responsible for the company’s best efforts, Jacky wrote this little gem as the perfect choice to prove everything I’ve praised her for over recent times. The lighting was well done, the pacing on par with anything coming out of the competition, and the depth of the feature elements certainly helped this one stand out. As I truly enjoyed the last two volumes in the series, this one showed even more attention to detail in the technical departments, the flesh tones, the use of camera angles, and the multitude of numerous aspects focused on to make this a winner should give it great legs in coming months when nominations start for the yearly awards. There was a company watermark on the lower right hand corner of the screen for those who care. The aural components by Paul Van Dik and Eddie Powell were satisfying too, the music, vocals, and ambient sounds all blended in for a welcome upgrade from the plethora of generic sounding releases I put up with on a weekly basis. As with the visual aspects of the movie, the audio portion was handled nicely, perhaps other companies will start paying more attention too.

Body of Review: Jacky St. James is a multi-talented young hotty working for New Sensations in various capacities, her works as a writer and co-director with Eddie Powell helping propel the erotica feature back into the limelight after a generation of parodies saturated the feature market. Her latest release is called The Temptation of Eve, a showcase effort starring bootilicious gonzo notable Remy LaCroix in her first major feature role carrying a flick. Going into this one, I had plenty of doubts as to whether or not Remy was up to the task, others in the field much more readily imagined in such a role as a gal caught between two lovers, but suffice it to say that Remy has now established she is more than just a smoking hot fuck bunny with a great ass. For the record, my review focuses largely on the sexual actions of the small cast and in many ways, that really doesn’t convey the qualities you will love this movie for but if the alternative is outlining every plot point as other reviewers seem so lazily apt to do, I’ll stick with my method of covering it (rather than be a prick). The back cover said this about the feature: “Thrust into an uncomfortable circumstance, Eve (Remy LaCroix) finds herself living under the same roof as Brandon (the man she shared the most intense sexual connection of her life with) and Danny (her current love whom she shares the most intimate emotional connection of her life). Her own curiosity about the man she lusted for long ago, coupled with his desperate attempts at manipulating her back into another affair, leaves Eve straddling the line between right and wrong. Will Eve succumb to Brandon's games? Or will she stay loyal to Danny, the man who continues to be her grounding force in the unpredictable, unstable world Brandon has begun to weave for both of them.”

The company press release described the movie like this: “Xander Corvus Spins a Seductive Web for Remy LaCroix in the Latest Feature. New Sensations will release the third installment of its Erotic Stories Series, The Temptation of Eve. The series, which began with critically acclaimed titles The Submission of Emma Marx and Cabaret Desire have provided fans of feature-driven porn with more edgy, sexually driven content than the love stories found in New Sensations' Romance Series. The Temptation of Eve will be no exception. The film, which stars heavy hitters, Remy LaCroix, Xander Corvus, India Summer, Bailey Blue, and Tommy Pistol, delves into the psychological challenges, Eve (LaCroix) faces when she and her current love, are forced to move in with Brandon (Corvus), a man from her past with whom she shared the most intense sexual connection of her life with. "What girl hasn't been torn between the nice, sweet guy and the brooding, dangerous one? There is always going to be an allure to the mysterious, but in The Temptation of Eve, the mysterious guy gets more than he bargained for with Eve." Written and directed by Jacky St. James, this will be her first feature film directing solo. She previously co-directed The Submission of Emma Marx and Torn with Eddie Powell. Despite their many successes working as a team (Torn went on to win Best Couples’ Release, Best Actor, Best Actress in a Couples' Film, and Best Screenplay collectively at XBIZ and AVN during the 2013 award season) it was Powell and Scott Taylor (President of New Sensations) that encouraged St. James to direct a feature on her own. "Powell and I always joke about how I'm more of an actor's director and he's a more visual director. So for me, I wanted to play to my strengths with the story and really explore the dynamics of character and work with the performers on bringing nuances, depth, and variety to their roles. I couldn't be more pleased with the final product and the work of all the actors, especially LaCroix and Corvus who had to constantly straddle that line between right verses wrong, and love verses lust," says St. James. "Thematically, I think audiences will be able to relate to this film on one level of another. Most of us have been one or more of the characters in this film at some point in our lives." The Temptation of Eve releases on August 19th.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Summary: The Temptation of Eve by director Jacky St. James for New Sensations was more than just a well polished feature in the erotica genre, it was a class act that I suspect many of the competition will find tough to beat later this year. Remy LaCroix was great in her role as “Eve” and her coworkers like Tommy Pistol, Xander Corvus, Bailey Blue, and India Summer all knocked this one out of the park in most ways. The technical aspects were a big upgrade over most titles available by others in the feature market and while the sex might not compete with some of the hardcore gonzo titles I’m used to seeing Remy do so well in, it merited a nice round of applause from more than the couples market alone. Coming from a gonzo loving raincoater like myself, that is about as big a compliment as you will find without strings attached so I rated this one as at least worthy of a Highly Recommended for a general audience, certainly more if you have enjoyed erotica features in series such as the New Sensations Erotic Stories series, this being the third volume. In short then, The Temptation of Eve was a tight little feature starring lovely Remy LaCroix in what will hopefully become the first of many she performs in from now on, a story that develops the characters and can be shared with a much wider audience than most of her titles to date so check this one out and let me know what you think.
