The mainstream look to the box art is something you’d see on a video rental shelf back when those existed. The only thing close to nudity on the box cover of Two of a Kind is Jay Smooth standing next to one of the Gia Pages without a shirt on. The “other” Gia Page, since there are two of her on this cover, is standing with her arms crossed in nerdy attire. The other version of Gia with Jay is in more daring attire with a jet black mini-skirt on in a victorious pose.  A slogan telling of the plot that encircles this film is that of “May the best sister win”. At the top left corner of the DVD box is the logo representing the franchise this film belongs to, Sweet Sinner. OPENING STATEMENT:

Jacky St. James directs erotic films. This isn’t a director who restricts herself to any modicum of what is considered the norm inside of porn and out. Meaning you don’t come here for just the anal and pops because you’re going to see a unique build of characters that only can be constructed in a movie centered on sex like this. That just doesn’t happen in the mainstream world without it being some sort of laughing stock (how mature? Right?). Yet Jacky in our little adult bubble has a sort of prestige that can’t be found in other film industries. She is definitely among a class of other female directors but she’s like the Spielberg of that sisterhood.  I’ve only seen one film and I’ve picked up on this style of a fornication feature from her. It’s a story-driven porno that doesn’t lean too heavy on narrative and drives some of the hottest sex scenes you can watch. This is something that was whirling in my mind as I stare at the Two of a Kind box art. I couldn’t wait to throw this disc into my player,  this is the only other time I’ve ever watched a Jacky movie and it already feels like I’m back for the 50th time. Let’s watch Two of a Kind!

GIA PAGE, ISIAH MAXWELL:

From the start, it’s obvious that Gia Page is playing TWO characters in this film.  She is playing twins in this plot and they both have their unique personalities in relation to how things are set up in Two of a Kind. The less social and nerdier of the two kicks off the film describing her woes of getting the attention of her crush that she happens to tutor. Her crush is played by Isiah Maxwell who is just bored to tears by her presence and the subject matter they are studying. This is all supplemented with melancholic music setting up this character’s plight of achieving a fantasy she can't reach.

Luckily she holds council with her more daring sister and the twins hatch a plan to get nerdy Gia laid. Isiah is the lucky target of this scheme as the next scene is of the twins in a kitchen. Isiah Maxwell took the bait and couldn’t be happier that the “fun twin” set the trap. Poor nerdy Gia is nursing a sandwich in defeat as she's being ignored.  It’s then realized which sister he’s more interested in as Isiah is stolen away upstairs for some sex.  It starts with the sweet sensuality you’re used to seeing if you’re a Jacky St. James viewer. The two talents will be all over each other with kissing and caressing which leads into some great pussy eating from Isiah. FINAL THOUGHTS:

The plot never gets in the way of the sinning sex int his Sweet Sinner showpiece. All the cast members meld well with characters that briefly setup fun sexual and unrealistic situations in a perverse rom-com system. I love this style but again it's not something you can entrap Jacky St. James with. She has a very distinct filming style that of a craftswoman in a trade that demands good directors like her. St. James shows us this with duplicating Gia Page into twin sisters for a porn film with a solid plot and it's Highly Recommend you see this pulled off yourself. Rent, buy or borrow Two of Kind. It's not a chapter hopping gonzo disc because it has scenes and lines that are memorable for a director that cares about her characters. Just throw the damn DVD into your player and watch it one night.
