Final Thoughts: This has been such an amazing year for Mike Quasar. The man is just a ball creative talent, telling such wonderful human interest stories that are mostly inspired by his own life. There's a little bit of Mike in all of his stories, which help to make them so personal and beautifully well written. It helps also to have such a stupendous cast, most notably in this case Ryan McLane who turns in a fantastic performance as the tortured artist who's simply looking for inspiration, thinking he can find it at the bottom of a shot glass but instead finds it in the form of the hooker with a heart of gold Avi Love. The amazing Avi, fresh off of her award-winning role in The Possession Of Mrs. Hyde, gives us another stupendous performance as a soul who, just like James Warren, is searching for something as well. In her case, a man who can accept her for the person she is. This is one of Quasar's best. It's an extremely touching, very emotional and absolutely beautifully shot. The man is on an absolute role after the remarkable Love Song and the wonderful Closing Time, and I give this one the XCritic Pick. As far as storytelling goes, it just simply does not get any better than this.
