Evolved Novelties is helmed by none other than Greg Alves, the man known for putting Metro on the map, starting up Zero Tolerance,
and more recently fighting asshat pirates successfully, winning a
multimillion dollar judgement.  So, why does Greg think he can carve
out a niche in an ultra competitive market dominated by the likes of
Doc Johnson, Adam & Eve, TopCo, and a few others?  First, he teamed
up with equally well known Gregg Alan, a guy you may know as the head
honcho at Diabolic (another favorite production company of mine) and the two took a
different approach.  Rather than go cheap with their toys, they decided
to take it slow and easy, using high end materials and quality testing
practices, resulting in toys like the Waterproof Honey Bunny. This was my second toy from the company to test and given the results of the other two, I know that there are going to be some really happy ladies out there when word gets around.

I was half surprised when I read
online that the Gregs were not trying to compete with the big boys of
toys ("Alves says launching Evolved Novelties isn't an
attempt to compete with the adult toy manufacturers already on the
market. Instead, just as when he launched Zero Tolerance, he is simply looking for his own place in the market.") but given the three I was sent to try out,
they might be competing before long as the copycat syndrome in porn
production is even more rampant in the world of sex toys.

From his interview at AVN online:  "Alves says he doesn't intend to flood the market. "We did not cut any corners," he says. "All of our toys are quality-tested. We really tried to go as
high-end as possible, from the motors to the finish of the toy itself
and even the stones used in some of the jewel-encrusted vibrators. We
are only going to be releasing about six a month so we don't flood the
market. The first month, you're going to see a couple of toys from each
line we're launching." Though Alves and Alan are confident in the products that are ready to be unveiled,
they have taken a humble approach to launching the line.  "We're not
coming into this with a haughty attitude or acting like we know
everything," Alves says. "In the last few years, we've been learning as we've gone along,
but we've remained consistent in our commitment to put out the best
finished goods possible. Ultimately, if we don't listen to what
retailers want, we'll look foolish. We are trying to make something
different. We are trying to carve our own niche in the market without
directly competing with the other companies."

Measuring in at 7.75" tall and a touch thinner than the Amore,  this pink device was like a next step toy as it added a ittle bunny shaped clitoral vibrator with a separate motor to generate additional vibrations from the main body.  The
version I received was light pink in color but seemingly like any "el
cheapo" model I've looked at from a dozen lesser companies.  What set
it apart right away was the cool packaging, a plain white sleeve
surrounding a nice metal case with foam inside, latches holding the top
onto the body.  Having given plenty of toys out for Christmas,
birthdays, Valentine's Day, and just because I'm a swell guy, I always
hate wrapping up some hard plastic shell of a package that looks as
lame as stuff you buy at the dollar store.  The case had such a cool
design on it that my primary toy testing buddy Nadine wanted to get the
logo tattooed on her arm or back (it has a heart in the middle with
flowery loops).  Bringing her back from her mental exercise in body
art, she told me that she really liked the packaging too ("a nice
balance between form and function").

The Waterproof Honey Bunny takes two
AA batteries and unlike those lesser releases by competitors, this
device really pours on the power! The first setting was light, the
second a modest upgrade, and the third, well, watch out as it's really
strong and had the already spent Nadine moaning with waves of
pleasure.  The vibrating bullet is up near the top of the jelly coated
toy and the curves on it allow for moderation in the insertion process,
my gal pumping like a piston engine as she rolled her eyes in the back
of her head.  This simple yet elegant toy really delivered the goods
and at the highest setting, drained those batteries almost as fast as
it drained my tester but it was an experience watching her to be sure.  The vibrations were strong enough that I felt them on the other side of the bed as they rippled through her too, marking a solid evolution from the generic motors so many vibrators use to lower their price point (I'd rather spend a few bucks more for this kind of quality).  The rabbit offshoot of from the main body had one of the strongest vibrations I have felt too so if you're looking for an upgrade or your cheaper toy no longer hits the spot for you, try this one out and you may find yourself cheering for Evolved Novelties.

Before she left, I tested it to check the waterproof nature of the device
and it passed with flying colors, the control on the bottom of the toy
being a simple push button approach I wish others would take (over
those all too often clunky controls).  The "O" ring kept water from
destroying the electronics and it was quite easy to clean, making it an Xcritic Pick given how it was remarkably better at getting Nadine off repeatedly than the previous (but still awesome Amore), the others in the line finding favor with my pal too (reviews
forthcoming, and I do mean coming!). 

If the Waterproof Honey Bunny is any
indication of things to come, I suspect both gentlemen will be making
more money from toys than their award winning movies (though I hope
they continue to provide both).  For the record, this was part of the
"True Love Edition" and it was made in China for the socially conscious
but you'll want to stock up on batteries with this baby because it's
gonna rock your world!  I would like to point out that future testing will be done at Nadine's place, the gal pretty much demanding ownership of the toy so I'm not sure I'll ever see it again (for that matter, I may never see Nadine again, at least until she runs out of batteries) but it was the best of the line in her opinion and arguably among the best on the market in its price range.
